Why we’ll all miss Dame Barbara Windsor’s smile – The Yorkshire Post says
She was proud of her roots in London’s East End. She was also candid about a colourful life which had more twists than most soaps. Yet the sparkly queen of TV’s Albert Square was a brilliant actress who made people smile – and that’s what her legion of fans will miss most of all.
But she, and her now heartbroken husband Scott Mitchell, also did more than most to raise the profile of dementia, the devastating disease that was to ultimately claim her life, by being so frank about the need for much more research to be undertaken into the condition.
