The Yorkshire Post says: Hello to kindness – Royals make social media stand over Kate and Meghan abuse

ALTHOUGH online abuse is, sadly, an occupational hazard for the younger members of the Royal family as public interest grows in their lives, it is even more depressing that the most hate-filled posts come from people desperate to create a rivalry between the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex.

This has become self-evident as Kensington Palace take steps to moderate the most hurtful – and unfounded abuse – as part of a new #HelloToKindness campaign in the hope that some of the most gratuitous and offensive comments are curtailed.

Perhaps courtiers should go further and start to ‘name and shame’ the worst culprits – the subsequent public humiliation might, in fact, act as some form of deterrent. For, given the those concerned would be hurt if similar language was used against them on such platforms, why should they be allowed to make such hurtful comments against Kate and Meghan – and get away with it?
