YP Letters: Will the anti-Corbyn MPs stand down or eat their words?

REAL Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn wipes the floor with Owen Smith to be re-elected with almost 62 per cent of the vote. Will we now be seeing mass resignations from sitting Labour MPs, many of them local, who have been so vociferous in their condemnation of Mr Corbyn over the past year or so?

Or is the lure of the Parliamentary gravy train too great to contemplate such a step? I can’t see any of these so-called ‘people’s representatives’ – who totally ignored their constituents, especially on ‘Brexit’ – daring to join the many ordinary folk down at the dole office, on zero hours contracts or even becoming agency workers on the minimum wage, can you?

Time will tell who the ‘gutsy’ ones are. My money’s on the answer a big fat zero.

JEREMY Corbyn must not offer olive branches to the likes of Alan Johnson, Neil Kinnock and Tony Blair. These phoney socialists have behaved despicably in their criticism of Corbyn.

Kinnock never won a general election. Johnson was a failure as a union leader, whilst Blair’s government seriously undermined the NHS by introducing private finance initiatives. All fail to realise that the country needs change to protect the vulnerable, low-paid and the thousands existing on food bank handouts.

As for Corbyn’s unelectability, this is not borne out by the evidence, for under his leadership Labour has done well in Parliamentary by-elections, city mayoral elections and reasonably well in difficult council elections. The party should therefore unite behind him and take the fight to the clueless Tories.

IT is a crying shame that Labour can’t find more suitable leaders to take the party forward, not backwards. It’s a good job there’s no General Election on the horizon or Labour would suffer a complete rout at the hands of the electorate.

WHY are Labour MPs so out of touch with traditional Labour voters? When will they realise their message of Remain was the real problem in the referendum and not the messenger? Thinking Labour voters would follow them like sheep was a big mistake. Perhaps the Labour Party should now be called the Lemming Party, something else that likes to self destruct.
