A Covid survivor’s thanks to NHS angels for saving his life – Yorkshire Post Letters
I AM now recovering at home after being treated on the Covid ward at Rotherham Hospital for over 14 days.
We have been treated with pioneering new Covid drugs and meds to help improve our recovery from this terrible, deadly virus.

It has been so harrowing watching and witnessing the demands on the dedicated NHS teams at Rotherham Hospital with the Covid pandemic.
They have been selfless and outstanding in their herculean care and treatment.
Please understand there’s gridlock in Accident and Emergency – as far too few beds are left on the Covid wards.

Hide AdStaff are going down with sickness, overwork and depression and I was told they have never seen it so bad with many staff exhausted, in tears, and so physically and emotionally drained with the demands of Covid.
Yet they crack on and do the very best for all their patients.
Despite this, they have always worked with a smile and gave us all first class, professional exemplary care and treatment. That’s been appreciated by all.
The sound of the tea trolley to replenish our cups has kept our spirits high.

Hide AdWe need to look after the carers on our front line who are doing the best for us and going more than the extra mile.
Part of the added problem is that there is not enough nurses being trained due to the Government getting rid of all the bursaries so many cannot afford the crippling costs.
What a shocking way to run a world-class renowned NHS.
In a decent society, NHS care and training would be provided free by, and for the good of the NHS, and the wellbeing of all the public and our families.
Meanwhile the big private firms, pharmaceuticals and “fat cats” are ripping off the NHS and cherry picking what’s left. The US health vultures are already in on the act. The NHS is on life support and this must be tackled as soon as possible.

For the record, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to every one of the staff, domestics, nurses, doctors and specialists at Rotherham Hospital... far too many to list.
You are all heroes of our cherished NHS and we respect and value you all.
Thanks again for all your help and care. Stay strong, stay safe.
