I NOTE that the shareholders of RBS have a balance sheet that is bigger than Scotland’s.

Does this mean that the shareholders of Lloyds TSB have a balance sheet bigger than Kenya’s?

Or that the shareholders of Barclays have a balance sheet bigger than Nigeria’s?

Here in Ireland, we embrace a different culture, one based on the Christian notion of natural justice. Instead of saying: “my money”, we say, in Irish, “mo chuid airgid”, “my share of money”.

Perhaps it’s a culture the 
City of London might care to discover?

THE nation must breathe a collective sigh of relief with the news that Thirsk and Malton Conservatives have chosen 
to deselect their MP Anne McIntosh.

Does this mean that we can now watch David Cameron at Prime Minister’s Questions without the circus act going on at his right shoulder?
