I NOTE that the shareholders of RBS have a balance sheet that is bigger than Scotland’s.

Does this mean that the shareholders of Lloyds TSB have a balance sheet bigger than Kenya’s?

Or that the shareholders of Barclays have a balance sheet bigger than Nigeria’s?

Here in Ireland, we embrace a different culture, one based on the Christian notion of natural justice. Instead of saying: “my money”, we say, in Irish, “mo chuid airgid”, “my share of money”.

Perhaps it’s a culture the 
City of London might care to discover?
