Rather like the illegal assault on lraq which achieved little apart from countless deaths, thousands of casualties and millions of refugees.

Wars about oil and in particular US control of it.

Who are these rebels? More of the current “leaders” in Afghanistan?

Various suggestions have been made seeking a ceasefire. These must be taken up quickly.

Libya or libraries? Aircraft carriers or A&E? Those are the questions – and we know the answers.

I AM a very infrequent visitor to airports but when I do I use my car. Last week I took my son to East Midlands Airport and had a similar experience to that of Paul Ellener (Yorkshire Post, May 24).

Entering the short-stay park via the barrier, I drove across the park, dropped my son off – without using a bay and left immediately. Entry to departure maybe three minutes. At the exit barrier, I was faced with the £2 fee which apparently is now a flat fee for use of the short stay area.

So Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, how many more?

I should throw away the lawn mower, the secateurs and the trowel. Instead, I should buy a cement mixer, some bricks and a load of timber. Then, maybe, I will get a rosette from my local council for the best garden in town.
