Car insurance quote of £900

From: A Meeson, Sissons Road, Middleton, Leeds.

i AM writing about car insurance premium increases. What the insurance companies are doing throughout the country is charging drivers in what they call postcode areas.

I have been driving for 40 years and never claimed a penny from the insurance company. I have five years no claims. I got a leaflet from the Post Office which indicated that the over 50s could save £300 on premiums. I phoned them, gave all the details and could not believe it when he said comprehensive cover was £900.

AND it came to pass in the fullness of time that our money grabbing, manipulative, unelected bunch of bureaucrats in Brussels decided that the handouts which they receive were not enough and that they would have to raise their own tax.

What better way than to impose a Financial Transaction Tax, thus destroying the lucrative City of London, the last bastion of British pride and success. Serve us jolly well right for winning the war.

Back please

From: Arthur Quarmby, Holme, Holmfirth.

THIS changeover to digital TV has been an utter mess, and the resulting service is inferior.

It now takes an age to get a programme. The choice is slow, and then one is requested to “please wait”. All this takes time, in contrast to the analogue system which was instantaneous.

Can we go back, please?

WHAT has happened to Sky News now that it is devoting hours to the Michael Jackson doctor trial when we are paying a lot of money to get real news from home and abroad?

It is time that it be put in its place for its failure to provide us with a varied news programme.
