Danger signs behind the consensus on Ukraine
SO German Foreign Minister, Frank Walter Steinmeier, who sees democratic eurosceptics in Western Europe as “threats to peace”, is pleased to shake hands with openly fascist and nationalistic leaders in the Ukraine.
One of the parties (Swoboda), called to meetings in the German embassy in Kiev with Steinmeier was described by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre as one of the most anti-Semitic in the world.

IT’S a bit rich, isn’t it, for the Russian Prime Minister to claim that the new government of Ukraine is “not legitimate” because it has come about as a result of “armed mutiny”.
History records that in 1917 the Russian people overthrew their own government in the same way. Surely that must mean that the government of Russia is similarly “not legitimate”? Or did the Tsar, his wife and his children shoot themselves?
Revolutions involving “armed mutiny” have brought about the formation of many modern states, including Britain, France and of course the USA. In the cause of reasoned dipIomacy, therefore, I think Vladimir Putin might reasonably instruct his Prime Minister not to make such silly remarks again.

Hide AdTHE world has watched over the past months the violent overthrow of a corrupt, criminal regime in the Ukraine.
Here in South Africa we have a similar illegitimate communist government that came to power twenty years ago by nefarious methods, and is very much the same in its total criminality and corruption.
Simply put, Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC) have totally destroyed a once-thriving economy.
It would be marvellous if the same violent revolution happened here – I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
