What will the Brexit trade deal for Britain?

THE Brexit negotiations have highlighted one of the inadequacies of the Brussels political system, namely the inability to come to any agreement. The system whereby any nation can veto legislation has reduced the ability of their parliament to agree anything. Whilst many people are disappointed to leave the European political system, the refusal to contemplate any reform measures have been a driving force behind Brexit.

My impression of Europe at present is that politics is being organised to give undue preference to the views of the French and German governments, with only very limited measures being put in place to level up the economies of all of Europe.

It is one of the unfortunate features of our political system that wealth tends to be concentrated in certain geographical areas. Once a particular country becomes more economically dominant then it is easier to provide the investment for more growth in the wealthy nation than in less fortunate lands.

SECURING us a deal to exit the EU is a significant achievement but only a starting point on which to build all aspects of our economy and lives.
