Fight goes on for heart unit

WE hear of the review of the closure of the children’s 
heart unit in Leeds with some concern.

The closure must be stopped for good. This unit is the only unit in Yorkshire and it’s a long way to another unit both for the children who are sick and often need urgent treatment and their relatives who are often very worried about their child’s serious illness.

We must call on our MPs to do what they can to stop this 
closure.

Alive and well

we are now being told from Japan (of all places) that bald 
men are a third more likely to develop a coronary heart 
disease than those with a full head of hair.

What poppycock. Over the past two years I have totted up all the ailments experts and researchers tell me that I have or am likely to get.

I admit I am not able to jump a five barred gate, but in reality I am alive, while according to them I am clinically dead.

Riding high

NICE to see Harvey Smith (Yorkshire Post, April 18) honouring tradition by taking his Grand National-winning horse, Auroras Encore, to his local pub, just like how Red Rum celebrated.

I can only guess that Harvey’s response to the health and safety brigade would be along the lines of “v for victory” if they had dared to stop him.
