Formidable but necessary manifesto for change

From: Ian Clarke, Malpas Road, Northallerton.

ON a return from our holiday, my son handed me three copies of the Yorkshire Post dated January 2, 3 and 4 which he had thoughtfully saved for me owing to the articles by Bob Dales.

Together they conveyed to us the most important issue of our age. Both the author and the Yorkshire Post (for printing them) are to be complimented. They are the first to realise the need for changes in our way of life and the conditions in our country, as so large a percentage of our population is occupied by the very aged. Even people in their nineties will go on increasing to new records.

Mr Dales obviously realised that the time had come for those old people to be asked what changes they need and the result has been a formidable ‘manifesto’ of requirements. Readers are urged to ask their local authorities and members of council which items will receive their attention and their reasons, if any, for taking no action on others. Hopefully, the Yorkshire Post will make the same requests, stating that it is intending to publish their replies.
