Good food that is wasted
IN these days of mediocre cuisine and greasy, bland food, one is so often faced with the embarrassment of “good nosh spoilt”.
I don’t know about you, but I find eating in cafeterias absolutely terrifying. There’s only one word to describe cafeteria food and it’s a rude one. Beef burgers that taste like rubber, vegetables that taste like mush, custard that tastes like cement – I’m always thinking it can’t get any worse but it sadly can.

Memories of a great dancer
From: Dorothy Chodan, Medina Avenue, Bridlington.
I WAS delighted to see the picture of John Gilpin (Yorkshire Post, May 26) and the ballerinas until I realised that he had died in 1983. What a waste of a wonderful dancer.
My late dear friend Mary and I spent many happy hours at the Bradford Alhambra watching the Festival Ballet and at the stage door collecting autographs of John Gilpin and others.
Thank you for the happy memories that have been re-kindled.

I hope so, or there will be carnage among the cyclists with all the bumps and so forth.
