How to freeze out cold calls

REGARDING Bill Carmichael’s column (The Yorkshire Post, February 27) on cold calling, I have cancelled my landline and use a mobile phone.

Maybe the cold callers can’t find you or calls to mobiles are too difficult or expensive for them, but for me the cold calling problem is now solved. It is also cheaper.

I DO not know whether Chris Moncrieff has read the bishops’ letter to Britain’s politicans to which he refers (The Yorkshire Post, February 26).

I have. It runs to 28 pages in large print and I need only one word to sum it up – anodyne.
