Identity cards open to fraud

From: Peter Hyde, Kendale View, Driffield.

JOHN Fisher’s letter on ID cards (The Yorkshire Post, October 6) seems a very good idea and I cannot see how it can be an infringement on anyone’s civil liberty to be made to carry one, after all we did it during the war. However, with today’s modern technology, they are simple to forge and I am certain that, as soon as they were introduced, some fraudster would set up shop and make a mint.

IF Britain wants control of its borders, how about some more immigration staff at the airports? I flew into Manchester the other day from South America and just walked straight through, not even a cursory check.
