A lesson from Captain Cook

Yorkshire’s own Captain Cook, from Whitby, the world’s best discoverer, navigator and cartographer, handled his men in an exemplary manner by discussion and leading by example. Now we have an Essex Captain Cook with no leadership qualities who can’t navigate his way around a cricket field.

People should not knock the ITV coverage of the Tour de France. They have been covering it end to end for years and do it extremely well.

It would have been sacrilege for the BBC to have cherry-picked a couple of days when it was in Yorkshire.
