Let hospital have cooks
FURTHER to your recent article (Yorkshire Post, April 1) about the quality of food at Airedale Hospital, I can confirm that there have been major changes in recent times.
When I was an in-patient in 2005 and 2006 the food was good, with good choices, but during a stay in September 2010 the food was uneatable. Yes, there was always a choice but the quality was always extremely poor.

Hide AdAs nutrition is important to good recovery in any health problem, it would undoubtedly be of benefit to bring the preparation and cooking back on the premises, but that is a pipe dream in these days of financial cuts.
Wrong again

OLLIE Letwin has got in wrong – again. Why should Sheffielders, or any other Yorkshire people, fly on cheap holiday flights from Stansted or any other southern airport?
We’ve got our own airports and Yorkshire folk have more oil in our lamps than to spend money trekking south when we’ve got perfectly good facilities on our doorstep.
Aid idea

Hide AdIn view of the fact that there is a possibility of Gurkhas being made redundant, would it not be a good idea to stop sending “aid” to rapacious African dictators and send it to Nepal instead (Yorkshire Post, April 5)?
Teachers’ plight

CAN the additional £650m of aid to Pakistan be justified given the state of the economy? We are told it is for schools and education. Has it escaped David Cameron’s notice that thousands of teachers here are losing their jobs?
