Letter: New councillors are needed

Parish councillors give their time and skills voluntarily to deal with issues that concern their local communities.

Their concern is for the place in which they live. It depends on what a parish council is dealing with at any one time as to the commitment of time a parish councillor has to make.

Parish councillors are required to attend the regular meetings of the parish council.

It is of great concern that parish councils have difficulty in getting people to make the commitment of becoming parish councillors.
