Look out Ed, for dark horse

From: Don Burslam, Elm Road, Dewsbury Moor, Dewsbury.

reading the runes, it would seem that Ed Miliband is not cutting it and, regardless of the current polls, he is doomed to fail in 2015.

I have been very impressed with Jim Murphy who is Shadow Defence Secretary. To my mind he comes over as steady, reliable and middle of the road. He has that “Scottish” aura at its best, ie decent, homely and likeable, a man of the people if you like but also a man of conviction.

For my money, he is a dark horse for 2015 after Ed comes an inevitable cropper.

Party’s handover

From: Godfrey Bloom, UKIP MEP for Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

IT is totally disingenuous of the Prime Minister to worry about the City of London being under assault when it was the Conservative Party who handed regulation of the City of London to Brussels on a plate, although I understand that they are now denying this on the cocktail party circuit. For those interested, I suggest you look at the electronic voting in the European Parliament.

Thanks, Jayne

MANY thanks to Jayne Dowle for her article (Yorkshire Post, October 24). Yes please, a thank-you card (perhaps a home-made one) to stand on the little table by their bedside. No text or phone messages as the elderly’s hearing and sight is not what it used to be (I am Granny Thelma).
