Make Harry and Meghan pay for their own security costs instead of UK taxpayers

Should the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pay for their own security costs?

AS a lifelong supporter of the monarchy and Royal Family (Jayne Dowle, The Yorkshire Post, February 27), is it not time this fiasco around Harry and Megan ceased?

They have decided to leave his family, as she did hers, this country and all the people who have supported them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are relocating to North America.

They have – and will – go on to make millions so the cost of their security should be paid for by themselves like other celebrities do. This is what their move was for – to make money.

From the Queen downwards, they all work hard and are one of the greatest assets to this country.

UNSURPRISINGLY, Canada has refused to pay Harry and Meghan’s £7.6m security bill. I hope this burden doesn’t fall on the UK taxpayer. They are reported to be going to earn billions. Surely they can employ their own security officers?

CANADA’S police have decided  to no longer fund security for Harry and Meghan.

Quite right. Neither should our own Met Police.

When you decide to make  your own bed, the chambermaids become superfluous.
