Name NHS staff responsible

From: P Doyle, Wakefield Road, Pontefract.

The NHS is funded entirely from the public purse and therefore its employees are all public servants.

As funders of the NHS, the public have the right to know the identities of those Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust public servants responsible for the loss of £4.5m public money paid to Dr Eva Michalak in compensation for being hounded out of her job.

Those responsible should be named and shamed, they should be surcharged and then they should be sacked.

It can only be in the best interests of all those living in Mid Yorkshire Trust’s catchment area for a full and proper public inquiry to be urgently held into this ever-failing NHS trust.

Foxes are killers

From: Peter Hyde, Driffield, East Yorkshire.

MANY people who think fox hunting is cruel are quite willing to accept that killing rats with terriers is okay.

In the countryside, foxes are classed as vermin because of the senseless killing they carry out. Don’t forget a fox will slaughter a whole hut full of hens and take one for food.

Nature is red in tooth and claw and cats that are well-fed still kill garden birds.

Toilet charge

From: Hilary Andrews, Wentworth Court, Nursery Lane, Leeds.

THE other week, we had a lovely day in Scarborough with our granddaughters, aged six and three. It was only spoilt by having to pay 60p to go to the toilet – 40p for me and 10p each for the children. Surely this is going too far?

Children of these ages cannot be allowed to go in by themselves yet their parent/carer has to pay too to make sure they don’t use the toilet for free.

We’ll be staying in Bridlington when they next come to visit!
