October 1: Budget air fares shrouded a in fog of charges at Leeds Bradford Airport

From: Hilary Andrews, Nursery Lane, Leeds.

WE have recently had a holiday in Spain and flew with the Jet 2 budget airline to Malaga.

We started off with a reasonably priced fare.

Then we had to pay taxes, to check in (more unless you did it on line), £64 for a bag each and yet more extortionate prices for a coffee.

It’s a good job we don’t have young children or we would have to pay for seats to sit together. As it is, we take what we are given as to choose our seats costs even more.

How can we fly without checking in or taking clothes to wear while we are away?

Surely it would be better to give us the price up front
instead of trying to con us into thinking they are giving us a bargain?

From: Joe Buick, Ilkley.

PREDICTABLY, the first fog of the autumn coincided with reports of more flight delays at Leeds Bradford Airport. How can it call itself an international airport when its geographical location means it is so vulnerable to fog and snow?

The sooner it is relocated to the Vale of York, the better.

After all, the site at Yeadon
was only intended to be used as an airfield in the Second World War.
