September 28: Echoes of Stalingrad as West needs Russia to crush ISIS

From: Clark Cross, Springfield Road, Linlithgow.

THE MI5 chief, Andrew Parker, has warned that terrorists plotting against Britain is at its most intense for three decades. Young males, rioting themselves into Europe, make up 90 per cent of the human tide from the Middle East and beyond.

How many are potential terrorists? Desperate times call for desperate measures. America has now accepted Putin’s offer of “military-to-military” talks on Syria. Russia is supporting President Assad against the ISIS terrorists and thus destroying jihadist groups threatening Russia’s southern flank. The Allies needed Russia to destroy the Nazis at Stalingrad and we need Russia now to destroy ISIS and their aim of world domination.

IT is time the EU put pressure on Turkey to stop the never-ending stream of migrants making their way to Europe. It should be very obvious to all the European leaders that all those arriving in Lesbos and Kos are coming via Turkey. Turkey must be turning a blind eye because it is clearing the problem from their country.

From: Peter Hyde, Driffield.

I AM becoming a bit disillusioned by our Prime Minister. He seems to lack strength of leadership and is waffling when it comes to migrants. I have little problem with refugees but many who are being admitted to our already overcrowded country are financial migrants looking to take advantage of our far too generous benefits system.

DURING a recent broadcast on refugees, and Syrian refugees in particular; an EU spokesman apologised for the chaos, saying sovereignty keeps getting in the way. I will repeat this – sovereignty keeps getting in they way. If something is getting in they way, then why not remove it?

No one can legitimately interfere in the affairs of another country; that is sovereignty. But other countries are interfering – whilst dressing it up in other clothes. The concept of sovereignty is being abused by so many that it needs to be looked at properly

The politicians will huff and puff, and come up with loads of sound bites and propaganda, but until someone looks at sovereignty dispassionately the events now unfolding will get worse and worse, until someone has to. But that will be too late for a proper debate – it may now be too late.
