Unfairness of bedroom tax

THIS so called “bedroom tax” is going to cause a lot of controversy and lose votes for the Government.

Wouldn’t it be better to make sure that all social housing tenants earning more than £326,000 paid a commercial rent for their housing and that tenancy could not pass in perpetuity to relatives?

It seems a fairer idea than the Government trying to control with whom we sleep!

PEOPLE on benefits provided by the state face cuts in this if they have empty bedrooms. MPs receive allowances from the state to pay for their second house. Should these allowances also be cut if they also have unused rooms?

Positive spin on wind turbines

HOW gratifying it must be for the motley collection of people who extol the merits of wind turbines to see their propaganda justified.

After all, the present cold weather surely must be proof positive that global warming has been stopped in its tracks!

And to think I had doubts! I should be ashamed. The wind turbines, even those (and I believe there are many) that 
are not actually connected to 
the National Grid at all as
they are more trouble than they are worth, have saved us all.

IT is with no surprise that we 
see Hambleton District 
Council’s executive members sticking two fingers up at their staff and the residents of the district over their pay rises.
