Unsuitable Emmerdale

From: Mrs MA Crowther, Henley Avenue, Dewsbury.

WITH reference to Sarah Todd’s column (Country Week, The Yorkshire Post, May 3) I am pleased that she brought the subject up of Emmerdale. It is a pity the likes of Mary Whitehouse are no longer around as Emmerdale is now an appalling programme. It was very watchable in the past, but now it is not suitable viewing for early evenings.

I FULLY support Nick Ahad’s plea for more regional funding for Arts in the North (The Yorkshire Post, May 2). It is disgraceful that lottery funding generated in the North goes mostly to fund the arts in London.
