Who will go to fight in Syria?

From: Barrie Crowther, Common Lane, Walton, Wakefield.

SO Tony Blair thinks we should intervene in Syria.

Presumably this means
our troops fighting alongside
so-called rebel forces who
at best have debatable
loyalties.

Would he send his own children? I think not – however, it is all right to commit ours.

I READ in the Life & Style supplement (Yorkshire Post, March 20) that, in order to play her part in a new film set in Belfast, our lovely local film
star Jodie Whitaker is being coached in the Northern Irish dialect.

To hear Jodie repeating after her tutor, “Hoiy Noiy Broiyn Coiy”would be worth a “thoiysand poiynds”.

Food beefs

From: H Madden, Westway, Guiseley, Leeds.

I HOPE the safe to eat “contaminated food” has been used sensibly and not dumped. By the way, should they put “may contain beef” stickers on hamburgers?

Bond fix

From: JGC Reid, Mayfield Road, Whitby.

am I being too cynical in
thinking that Nick Clegg’s “immigration bond” might be seen as a viable alternative to paying a “fixer” to attempt an illegal entry (Yorkshire Post, March 23)?
