X Factor ‘flop’ 
with 9.3m

SOME reports said the X-Factor flopped, with an audience of 9.3 million. Well, Match of the Day only gets four million viewers. The days of monster TV viewing figures died with Morecambe and Wise.

GIVEN the number of repeats being shown by the BBC this winter, wouldn’t be better if the Corporation just concentrated on producing original material for its two terrestrial channels?

LIKE Tom Richmond (The Yorkshire Post, December 13), I am surprised Clare Balding is scaling back her racing commitments to devote more time to BBC sport. I thought its lack of sport was the reason she joined Channel Four Racing.
