AS a devout Remainer, Anna Soubry has the overbearing and presumptuous attitude which is coupled with the arrogance of those who expect the country to be beholden to them.
Someone needs to shock her out of her reverie, but we can’t expect the faint-hearted in Parliament, or the broadcasting media to do it. So, fellows of Nottinghamshire electorate, please do it on behalf of democracy.

THERESA May has narrowly survived a vote over an aspect of Brexit in Parliament on Tuesday evening, but May and her government’s problems roll on and on and on. She would be more at home in Fred Karno’s Circus than leading her party or the Brexit negotiations.
And let’s not forget the two Lib Dem MPs, party leader Sir Vince Cable and his predecessor Tim Farron, who disgracefully failed to turn up for the Brexit vote.

THE excellent “Remainer” Conservative MP Anna Soubry, asserts that a rump of 60 Brexit extremist MPs in the European Research Group are in effect determining government policy.
I suspect Ms Soubry is correct - in which case what we have is the lunatics running the asylum.

A TIMELY reminder from Andrew Vine that “The likes of Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg won’t be affected if a major employer leaves Britain” (The Yorkshire Post, July 17). Neither will their fellow Etonian David Cameron. Following his craven lack of courage and decency to stand up to his right wing, where is he now?

PEOPLE continue to whinge about a second referendum with Justine Greening, more recently, being the latest (The Yorkshire Post, July 21). I do believe our PM should toughen-up and dig her high heels in where it will most hurt the EU. The EU needs the UK more than we need the EU.

THE latest antics over Brexit by the turncoat MPs of Labour and Conservatives show me what a sham our so called democracy is. Never mind what constituents want, never mind what party policy is, MPs do just what they want.
