Parents appear in court

Lee Davison, 28, and Jessica Hopkinson, 18, are charged with the murder of Krystal Davison at their home in Pontefract.

Officers were called to the hospital on Thursday after the girl was brought in by ambulance from an address in Ashleigh Avenue, Pontefract, with serious injuries. She died early hours the next day.

The pair spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth during the short hearing at Pontefract Magistrates Court.

They are now due to appear before Leeds Crown Court tomorrow.

No application for bail was made.
