Peek in order at gallery

ANIMAL-loving artist Garry Jones has taken over the main room at Sheffield’s Cupola Gallery for the whole month of July, with the exhibition Grandma’s Feather Bed.

The centrepiece of the new display is a life-size construction of a bedstead covered in chickens bouncing, pecking and losing their feathers.

Other pieces include The Chuck Chuck, featuring dancing chickens, and Pecking Order, in which the animals are sitting on top of each other.

Gallery managing director Karen Sherwood, who is shown alongside Grandma’s Feather Bed, said: “The way he fuses his sense of humour with his skilful depiction of animals we all know and love is a delight.”

The exhibition runs at the gallery in Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, until Sunday, August 5. Picture: Chris lawton
