Pensioner tells of terrifying road rage attack

A PENSIONER who had his nose broken and teeth knocked out during a road rage attack has spoken about his ordeal, said by police to have been one of the worst they have seen.

Father-of-three Arnold Griffiths, 75, was waiting in traffic in Wakefield city centre when a man ran up to his car window and swung a punch, knocking out three teeth last Monday.

"There was no word just a smack straight on my nose. I just sped off before he gave me a hiding. I was in a bit of a state and had a hell of a bust lip. A shock like that could kill someone."

Moments earlier Mr Griffiths had pulled out in front of his attacker at a roundabout.

"He started pipping his horn, shouting and waving his fists. But he did not have to brake or anything. I gestured to say sorry – everyone makes mistakes."
