The practice moved to Hull Bridge Road and the Grade 11 listed building on Ladygate has stood empty since January 2019.

In recent years the three-storey building, which was built around 1840, has housed a Scout Hut, commercial interiors retail outlet and later residence and office before becoming a dental practice in 2005.

Developers want to change the use of the building from commercial to residential.

A planning application submitted to East Riding Council states that it will create "much-needed" residential accommodation and a number of commercial properties in the town are empty.

There will be no alterations internally and externally.

Documents online state: "The property is an unused commercial building at present and was deteriorating from neglect in the last two years.

"The proposed change of use will bring about much needed renovation and redecoration...the property will be an asset to the North Bar Within Conservation Area."
