The arrest was the second to be made this weekend in connection with the death of Mr Szleper, following an incident in the West Parade area of Hull on Sunday, February 14.
Earlier on Saturday, an 18-year-old Hull man was also brought into custody by officers leading the investigation.
Both men -along with a 23-year-old and 29-year-old earlier arrested in connection with the incident – continue to be questioned.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Baldwin said: “This remains very much an ongoing investigation with officers working tirelessly to piece together events leading up to Mateusz’s death.
“We are in close contact with his family and I am committed, as are my team, to ensuring we find out who is responsible for this violent attack.
“I would like to reassure the public that from enquiries undertaken to date, we do not believe this to be a random incident.
Our investigation is progressing but we still need the public to come forward if they know anything about this.
“We are dealing with a tragic incident, as a result of which a young father has been taken from his family.
“I appeal to anyone who has any details which can assist our investigation to make contact as soon as possible.”
