Police arrest man on roof of Sheffield's Northern General Hospital after stand-off

Police have been called to a Sheffield hospital after a man was stood on the roof for almost an hour.

South Yorkshire Police were called to a report of a man threatening to jump off the roof of the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield at 2.05pm.

Following a 40 minute stand-off, police arrested the man at 2.45pm.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of public nuisance.

He is still in custody.

No one is thought to have been seriously injured.
