Police divers find body in river

POLICE divers who were drafted in as part of a missing person inquiry in York found a body in the River Ouse close to the city centre yesterday.

The discovery was made only 40 minutes after the divers from West Yorkshire Police’s underwater search unit entered the river at about 11am.

North Yorkshire Police officers had called on their colleagues from across the country boundary as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Lee Calam, 35, from York.
