Officers were called to Town Street in Horsforth at 3.10pm today and are still in the area.
There have been unconfirmed reports that a school in the area is on lockdown.
Police swoop into Leeds suburb after robbery
A school was on lockdown for around half an hour after a robbery took place at a jewellers in Leeds this afternoon, police said.
