Hide AdThe awards recognise the best journalists in the country aged under 30 in a number of categories.
This year, the awards received more than 1,000 articles, videos, podcasts and photographs – from 200 media brands in the UK and abroad, ranging from the Channel 4 News, Sky, and The Wall Street Journal, to GQ, National Geographic, and New Scientist.
The Yorkshire Post entry included Pod’s Own Country, The Yorkshire Post’s political podcast launched by Miss Scott during the General Election in December last year, an exclusive story on the ancestors of Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson living next door to each other in a Yorkshire village, and a deep dive into the idea of introducing a universal basic income. A gold winner in each category of the awards will be announced later this week.
James Mitchinson, the editor of The Yorkshire Post, said: “Throughout the 266-year history of The Yorkshire Post, politics has been at the heart of our coverage. Geraldine has proved to be one of the most tenacious political journalists in the country, so this accolade is recognition of her talent which we are grateful to have.”
