The Government will consider raising the universal service obligation on broadband from dial-up to five megabits per second to try and improve digital access to broadband areas.

Hide AdThe Chancellor also announced that Hull will be added to the list of cities where small and medium-sized firms get financial help to get connected.
Alan Worthing, from Hull telecoms firm KC, said: ““The SuperConnected Cities funding will make it easier for those businesses that haven’t yet made the switch to unlock the many benefits of superfast broadband.”
The Government will also invest £600 million in improving 4G mobile services.
