City votes to keep council tax unchanged

Most houses in the district are in either Band A or Band B, which means their council tax bill will be £851.49 and £993.41, respectively.

West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have also agreed to freeze their portions of the tax.

Martin Stubbs, Bradford Council’s assistant director revenues & benefits, said: “We have done all we can to try and reduce the cost of producing the bills.

“However, we are legally required to send certain information with the bills.

“The council tax department phones are expected to be extremely busy in the few weeks after the bills have gone out. We would like to ask residents to read all of the information we send with the bills and visit our website as that may well answer their questions.”
