ED MILIBAND is known as the leader of the ‘red team’ at home, wife Justine revealed as she campaigned for Labour in Bradford.

She discussed voting with staff and students at Forster Community College before meeting trainee chefs.

Mrs Miliband said she was fitting campaigning around her own legal career and the needs of the couple’s two children.

“The children do know there’s an election on, so they think their daddy is the leader of the red team so we are having quite a lot of chats about who the red team are and what the red team’s doing and the green team and the blue team,” she said.

“I’ll be honest, the role of a politician’s wife is a slightly strange one but it’s also a huge privilege.

“I am really enjoying going out and talking to first time voters like we did today and talking to people on the doorstep.”

Mrs Miliband was joined on the visit by Naz Shah, Labour’s candidate challenging George Galloway in Bradford West.

She described Ms Shah as an “inspiring, courageous and determined woman” who would provide an “incredibly strong voice” for people in the constituency.
