Mr Cuts gets set to leave civil service
Ian Watmore, who was put in charge of finding billions of pounds of efficiency savings soon after the coalition was formed in 2010, will quit the civil service at the end of June.
His departure will come six months after he took up the additional role of permanent secretary – the top civil servant – at the Cabinet Office in January.
