YP Letters: After Chilcot, silence is all we need to hear from Mr Blair

From: Sue Powell, Bakersfield Drive, Kellington.
Tony Blair should keep out of politics following the Chilcot report.Tony Blair should keep out of politics following the Chilcot report.
Tony Blair should keep out of politics following the Chilcot report.

ON matters of the EU referendum and the leadership of the Labour Party, Tony Blair has, and still is, avidly giving the British people and the Labour Party his so-called qualified advice on serious matters of British governance.

This is a man who has been proved by the Chilcot inquiry to have been lying for his own warmongering ends, and to further his own career. Although the inquiry could not deliberate on the legality of the Iraq war, the families have made it very clear that they hold Blair liable and will be seriously considering legal action against him.

One family member went so far as to say at the Press conference that there is one terrorist remaining who has not been brought to account, and that is Tony Blair.

Blair should therefore immediately cease and desist pontificating on British affairs of any description and certainly should not be listened to by governments or people generally at all, anywhere. As a nation, we need to learn the lessons of the inquiry, but as a people, the British should no longer allow people such as Blair to run our country.

We have, as a nation, voted democratically to leave the EU, which has become the career path for British senior politicians. That alone is a good reason to stop this gravy train.

From: Chris Gallacher, Chairman, Ukip Redcar.

TONY Blair and the leading members of his government are guilty of gross mismanagement and total disregard for the safety of our troops and country in their desire to commit to war our forces with dwindling resources and that is criminal.

We might feel that this is a one off event but as we look at the Clinton emails we see that French and British carve-up was agreed prior to the Libyan intervention with the US.

Therefore our leaders are corrupt and complicit in breaking international law for material gains at the cost of thousands of deaths and chaos.

Blair is unrepentant and typical of our political elite who continue to be out of touch.

IS it not time that we cease paying the security costs associated with Tony Blair by withdrawing all security and encouraging him to take his own chances with the “blood money” he has salted away since his retirement from politics?
