AFTER learning of the dreadful attack on Parliament, I tried to find solace in William Wordsworth’s lovely poem “Upon Westminster Bridge” – “Earth has not anything to show more fair...”

Sadly its beauty will be forever tarnished thanks to the actions of someone who hated the language and cultural values of his native land - why?

FOLLOWING the tragic death of police officer, Keith Palmer, a true hero, one thing bothers me. It would appear he was not wearing a stab vest, I would have thought it would be standard issue for people on the front line.

Keith Palmer’s selfless actions should put the word ‘hero’ into perspective, it is often used where it should not be.

WHAT a disgraceful photograph of police cadets (The Yorkshire Post, March 25) paying tribute to one of their own, as they should.

They might have clean white gloves and smart tunies but look at their trousers - wrinkled and dishevelled. Not much pride in their appearance for a group of people we are supposed to respect.
