Poppy Appeal launched in moving ceremony
Monica and Brian Kershaw, who lost their 19-year-old son Pte Christopher Kershaw, of the Yorkshire Regiment, in March, joined dignitaries and members of the armed forces in Bradford’s Centenary Square yesterday for a moving ceremony.
Pte Kershaw was killed along with five other soldiers when their Warrior armoured vehicle was blown up by a bomb 25 miles north of the capital of Helmand province in Lashkar Gah.

Hide AdBradford Council’s leader, Coun David Green, urged people to support the appeal. He added: “The event reminded people both about the sacrifices the armed services have made in the past and that they are still making in serving their country. Clearly it is still current for many families.”
