Porsche offered as reward in search for missing teenager

A SPORTS car has been offered as a reward for anyone who can offer any information on the whereabouts of missing South Yorkshire teenager Andrew Gosden.

After reading about the plight of the Gosden family, from Balby, Doncaster, Barrie Ford was moved to offer his own black Porsche Cabriolet as a reward, in the hope someone would come forward with new details.

Andrew was just 14 when, on September 14, 2007, he headed off to McAuley Catholic High School as usual.

But instead of going to school that day, he returned home, changed out of his uniform and withdrew £200 from his savings account, with which he bought a one-way train ticket to London.

The last confirmed sighting of Andrew was a grainy closed circuit TV image of him leaving King’s Cross railway station.

Although numerous campaigns to find Andrew have been launched over the years, no concrete information on his whereabouts has ever come to light.

His devastated father Kevin Gosden is hoping Mr Ford’s offer might prompt somebody to offer new information.

He said yesterday: “It is nearly five years since we saw Andrew; hugged him, laughed with him, told him we loved him.

“The impact upon our family life is beyond words. We have lived for so long with fear, anxiety, hope, depression, despair.

“If anyone knows anything about Andrew’s whereabouts, alive or dead, or can give us information about what happened to him, we beg you to do so.

“To know what has happened to a lad who was not only an essential part of our family but of the community would bring so much healing to us all.

Andrew, who would now be 18, was 5ft 3in tall when he went missing and was slim, with light brown hair and glasses.

He has bad eyesight and needs glasses or contact lenses with a strong prescription, and also has an unusual “double ridge” on his right ear.

Mr Gosden added: “If you are prepared to help, please consider joining Andrew’s facebook group and just keep sharing and sharing.”
