Post Office boost in store for village

Residents in a West Yorkshire village will be able to use Post Office services in a local store when it re-opens its doors on Thursday.

The Co-operative Food store on Station Road in Oxenhope, near Keighley, has undergone a £290,000 redesign, which allows it to offer Post Office services.

The store will include a Post Office Local service, offering services including all mail transactions, home shopping returns, and online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Customers will also be able to top up mobiles phones, pay bills, pre-order foreign currency and access a range of Government services.

The Post Office Local service will be provided at combined kiosk counters in the store and services will be available during all store opening hours.

Kiran Bains, store manager, said: “Having Post Office services based within the food store also makes it simple and convenient for customers to run all their errands at once. I’m looking forward to introducing the store’s existing customers, and new ones, to the new service.

“I’m confident they will be pleased with the flexibility and convenience of the new Post Office Local.”
