Premier must take charge of riots and order aid for police

From: Norma Hallas, Premiere Park, Ilkley.

DAVID Cameron needs to get a grip of the civil disorder immediately otherwise it will bring this country down. The Army should be brought in now as the police clearly cannot cope.

These are mindless thugs who have no idea what they are rioting about, they are kicking off because they can.

If these thugs get hurt by the police or the Army, tough, they shouldn’t be there breaking the law.

These thugs don’t care about the police, they are not worried or put off by their presence because the police are not allowed to act in an aggressive way or they are hounded by the Press and do gooders.

It’s time for this Government to get tough on crime and thugs or it will be its downfall.

Decent people of this country are sick and tired of the lack of proper control of the criminal fraternity in this country.

There is no deterrent to committing crime here. Do you think these thugs are remotely bothered about the police, or the law, or the courts?

If they were rounded up by the Army and had to look down the barrel of a gun, that would change their attitude. They know that the police can’t do a thing as they would be all over the newspapers and human right twerps would be kicking off.

Mr Cameron, I speak for the majority in this country. Get control now or they will.

THIS is Britain’s Big Society, as of August 2011. It is in racehorse terms – like David Cameron himself – “by Tony Blair out of Agony Aunt”.

Our professional political class have their fingerprints all over this chaos. Over many years, they’ve collectively allowed our country to lose its soul and its backbone.

Our Armed Forces should be brought back from senselessly fighting Afghan shepherds and Libyan eccentrics and set loose on our home-grown real enemy instead.

These thugs incidentally, have seen bent MPs given derisory prison sentences in our holiday camp prisons, and then be allowed to walk free after serving less than three months.

Is there any wonder they are not scared of our judicial system?

The rioting in London is totally unacceptable. The police are held back from doing their jobs because, I suspect, of the so-called racism issue.

The police bludgeoned the miners into submission in 1985 so if they daren’t do the same with these rioters then bring the Army in and let them stop it.

From: Arthur Quarmby, Holme, Holmfirth.

THE Government’s response to the riots has been pathetic. If they had brought in the Army with rubber bullets and water cannon at the outset, then the rioting could have been nipped in the bud.

From: Andrew Mercer, Guiseley, Leeds.

GIVEN the use of Twitter to exacerbate the riots, should this social media now be known as anti-social media?
