Private investor buys holiday home park

The Leeds office of Colliers International has sold Hawthorn Holiday Park on the outskirts of the village of Bempton to a private investor.

The site, which had an asking price of 3.3m, covers almost nine acres and houses 124 fully serviced holiday home pitches, 114 of which are occupied, and also has a bar and leisure suite.

Most of the site's customers are from South and West Yorkshire.

Richard Moss, associate director at Colliers in Leeds, said: "We have sold more holiday parks in 2010 than the corresponding period during the market peak in 2007.

"On a positive note, we have seen a 38 per cent increase in park sales already in 2010.

"However, on the flip side there has been a downward price adjustment between the two periods."
