The £26m 'gift from grandmother'

A FAMILY who scooped £26.1m in Friday's EuroMillions draw insisted their luck was a gift from a late relative.

Taxi driver George Sturt, 75, and his three children Colin, 53, Gary, 51, and Teresa, 44, leapt into fourth place on the National Lottery’s Rich List. It was third time lucky for the four-strong syndicate from Dorking, Surrey, who won 22 last Saturday and 52 on Wednesday. The group, who claimed one of just two winning tickets, attributed their luck to George’s late wife, Maureen, who died from cancer in July.

“She is still part of our lives every day and we were all really close to her,” Teresa said. “All of my children immediately said it was a sign, it was Nanny.”
