£6m kickstart for Waterfront vision
A £6m grant will kickstart the major redevelopment of Huddersfield's Waterfront Quarter.
The site, currently occupied by an engineering works, will include office space, a college, homes, hotels and leisure facilities. The river and canal corridors will also be linked, while Huddersfield University will be connected to the town centre.
The funding is for the first phase of development, to be completed in 2012.
