Push to tackle transport blackspot

A MAJOR consultation has been launched to boost transport access and information across Richmondshire.

Richmondshire District Council has joined forces with North Yorkshire County Council to conduct a survey over the next two months.

It follows news that residents and visitors feel the district is the worst in North Yorkshire for access to timetables for buses, trains, car sharing and community transport schemes.

The survey is aiming to find out where improvements can be made in the area.

It will also give people the opportunity to put forward their own ideas and experiences of public transport in Richmondshire.

Copies of the survey are going to be made available in libraries, council offices, community centres and village halls across the district.

It is also going to be delivered to homes in selected areas by supervised workers through the Community Payback scheme.

Completed surveys – which can be returned by freepost – must be with either Richmondshire District Council, or North Yorkshire County Council, by January 31.
